3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) is a versatile silane coupling agent that creates a strong bridge between organic resins and inorganic materials, delivering better adhesion, mechanical strength, and moisture resistance.
Product Code: ES-550
Molecular Weight: 221.4

Properties and Reactivity:

3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane(APTES) is a bifunctional silane containing reactive amino groups and hydrolysable ethoxysilyl groups. This dual functionality enables it to chemically bond inorganic materials such as glass, metals, and mineral fillers with organic polymers, including thermoplastics, thermosets, and elastomers. It is therefore widely used as an adhesion promoter, crosslinker, and surface modifier, helping improve adhesion, water resistance, and corrosion protection.

When exposed to water, ES-550 hydrolyzes to form reactive silanol groups that can bond with a wide range

of inorganic surfaces, while its amino group can react with suitable organic polymers. Compatible substrates include glass, glass fiber, silica, mica, kaolin, talc, metal oxides, and metals. It can also be used with epoxy, polyurethane, polyamide, PVC, acrylic, silicone, and other resin systems.

Packaging and Storage:

APTES is moisture-sensitive, so proper sealing during storage and transportation is important. It is available in 20 kg / 25 kg containers, 180 kg drums, IBCs, and customized export packaging, depending on the order quantity and customer requirements.

Store APTES in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, tightly sealed and protected from moisture and incompatible materials. Once opened, reseal the container promptly and avoid unnecessary exposure to humid air, as moisture can cause hydrolysis. For larger-volume orders, proper storage and handling conditions are essential to maintain product stability.

Customers should review the latest Safety Data Sheet (SDS), toxicity data, and relevant information on the proper handling, storage, transportation, and use of the product before use. The expiry date is indicated on the product label. Storage beyond the date stated on the Certificate of Analysis does not necessarily mean that the product is unusable; however, the properties required for the intended application should be checked to confirm its quality and suitability.
