Precautions for use and operation of cyclohexylamine

2024-05-02

As cyclohexylamine is irritating to the skin and mutagenic to the human body, the staff shall wear a direct gas mask (half mask), chemical safety goggles, anti-corrosion work clothes, rubber oil resistant gloves and conduct airtight operation in strict accordance with the operating procedures in daily work contact. The working environment shall be ventilated to avoid kindling and heat source.

 Cyclohexylamine

No smoking sign and cyclohexylamine occupational hazard notification card shall be set up in cyclohexylamine workplace. In terms of storage, the temperature of the warehouse shall not exceed 30 ℃ and shall be ventilated. The storage containers shall be kept sealed and shall not be mixed with acids and edible chemicals. Explosion proof lighting and ventilation facilities shall be adopted.

The cyclohexylamine workplace and warehouse shall be equipped with corresponding types and quantities of fire-fighting equipment and leakage emergency treatment equipment.

Cyclohexylamine is strongly alkaline and can absorb carbon dioxide in the air and quickly generate white crystalline carbonate. Therefore, the storage package should be tightly closed. Packed in iron drums, 150kg or 170kg per drum. Store in a cool, ventilated and dry place. Protect from the sun. Isolate heat and fire sources. Store and transport according to regulations for flammable and toxic chemicals.

Has the chemical properties of primary amines. It is highly alkaline and absorbs carbon dioxide in the air to form white crystal carbonate. It can react with acid chlorides, acid anhydrides and esters to form N-acylates. Reacts with nitrous acid to produce alcohol. It reacts with formaldehyde in alkaline solution to form hydroxymethyl compounds. Reacts with carbon disulfide to form dithiocarbamic acid. Reacts with aldehydes to form Schiff base.

Cyclohexylamine is strongly alkaline and therefore irritating to the skin and mucous membranes. Inhalation of vapors can cause nausea and anesthesia, and absorption through the skin can cause allergies. Mice inhaled LC1004.3mg/L and MLC0.1mg/L. The maximum allowable concentration in the air in the workplace is 1 mg/m3. The equipment must be sealed, the device must be ventilated, and the operators must wear protective gear.
