Anhydrous lithium hydroxide is an inorganic compound with the formula LiOH. It is a white hygroscopic crystalline material. It is soluble in water and slightly soluble in ethanol, and is available commercially in anhydrous form and as the monohydrate (LiOH.H2O), both of which are strong bases. It is the weakest base among the alkali metal hydroxides.

Colorless transparent oily liquid with slight amine odor. It has the advantages of low toxicity, high boiling point, outstanding solubility, low volatility, strong selectivity and good stability. It is an important strong polar chemical solvent, which can be used in the front-end solvent of lithium battery, and belongs to the supporting solvent of the positive electrode binder of lithium battery.
