How to use morpholine rubber additives

2023-11-15

Morpholine (MOB for short), chemical name 14-oxazacyclohexane, molecular formula C4H9NO, melting point -4.76°C, boiling point 128.3°C, is flammable and has a pungent ammonia smell. It is a colorless oily liquid under normal temperature and pressure, which is miscible with water and soluble in most organic solvents such as benzene, toluene, and ether.

Morpholine is an intermediate in the preparation of many fine chemical products, the most important of which is widely used as an additive in rubber production.

For example, the vulcanization accelerator OTTOS is produced. Its processing safety and delay effect are better than those of sulfenamide and benzomazole accelerators, and it has become the main accelerator for styrene-butadiene rubber, EPDM rubber and other general-purpose rubber; synthetic The vulcanizing agent DTDM can improve the scorch resistance and heat aging resistance of rubber.

It is a new vulcanizing agent and accelerator for natural rubber and synthetic rubber. It has the characteristics of safe operation, easy dispersion, no blooming, no discoloration and no pollution of the rubber. Etc. The largest consumer area of morpholine in my country is the rubber industry. Currently, more than 50% of morpholine is used in the production of rubber additives.
